Fly into this major international airport and take Amtrak's Downeaster train to Portland. The train departs from Boston, stops in Woburn, Haverhill, Exeter, Durham and Dover, Massachusetts and then journeys up the Maine coast with stops in Wells, Saco, Old Orchard Beach, Portland, Freeport and Brunswick.
The Bangor, Maine airport is served by American and Delta Airlines, also United to Chicago seasonally and flights several times weekly on Allegiant. With over 60 daily jet flights to and from major metropolitan centers, Florida and the Caribbean, BGR offers convenient accesss to Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island and the highlands areas of Maine. Passenger service between Boston's Logan Airport and Presque Isle in Northern Maine.
Located within three miles of Acadia National Park, the Hancock County Bar Harbor Airport handles a ignificant amount of tourist traffic on smaller, light planes. It is served by Cape Air, Pen Air and Elite Airways.
Serving Mid-Coast Maine, the Knox County Regional Airport is fifth in size in terms of enplanements.
