Feb 25, 2017. Cabin Fever Reliever Living History Day at Washburn-Norlands. Old Time Fun and A Celebration of President'sDay, 1870-style. Horse-drawn sleigh rides, craft activities, one-room schoolhouse, mansion tours, and a special tribute to George Washington. Stop by for some old-time fun and a belated celebration for Presidents Day. Meet the neighbors and make new friends. Activities are provided by interpreters in period clothing portraying people of the 1800's Norlands neighborhood or members of the original Livermore Washburn family. A light soup luncheon, cookies and hot chocolate will warm you up in the farmer's cottage, while supplies last. General admission is $10/adults, $6/ages 12 and under. Members of Norlands enjoy a 20% discount on admission. Upon arrival, park by the church and walk up to towards the mansion. Purchase admission tickets in the gift shop. In case of bad weather, the event will be canceled. On the morning of the event please call ahead or check the Norlands' Facebook page. Feb 03 thru Feb 05, 2017. Biddeford WinterFest, where the City of Biddeford and local community groups have collaborated to cure cabin fever. People of all ages are invited to participate in activities that no one would expect to see in the midst of City Square. Among other activities, the sledding hill will return to Adams Street on Saturday. The weekend also will include dogsled rides, ice carving, plus great shows in City Theater, skating, broom ball, library events, and more. Join us for a day of fun including free horse drawn wagon rides, skating at the Waterhouse Center with Kennebunk High School ice hockey players, fire baton twirling and a special figure skating performance by KHS senior and Festival Committee member Samantha Abelson. Begin your day at the Kennebunk Free Library where the Cabin Fever Book Sale and free Bird Feeder craft project will be held. Stop by the Waterhouse Center for various activities including "Name the Snowman," the new mascot of Winterfest. Be a judge in the 8th annual Soup Contest too.
